Its been a close contest wth a complete outsider making a bid for the title. Considering it has a position next to the kettle the fact that it rose from last to second position just goes to show that nature can surprise you all the time. We have decided to declare a winner and pleased to announce it is Martin with a total of 14 chillies on his plant and the runner up is Linda with 9. We have totalled 34 chillies and they are all gradually tiurning red. Martin will be presented with his prize a Chilli Cook Book next week and a packet of assorted seeds to grow next year. We are now going to experiment and trim them back and keep them going through the winter. I am doing this with all mine at home so next year the harvest could be even more.

We couldn't agree more Jo. There's the window space, the lobby areas, the car parks...there's growing potential everywhere!

I brought in spare tomato plants from my allotment last year to stir interest and planted them in the flower tubs on the quayside - no one noticed till they spotted the toms ripening - But once you get anyone involved its amazing how they become addicted to growing even if its just a radish it seems amazing.

Just an update we have clear leader - Martin now has 9!!! chillies on his plant. Some have just one. His was not the biggest plant at first, but it just proves that size does not matter!

Bit of a mystery that Amy they were from the shop where everything is a pound! It just said chillies on the tub they were supplied in. But for something so cheap it is a great talking point and fun - we even have clients asking after them.
