The Laura Ashley Foundation was set up in 1986, in memory of Laura Ashley, the designer, who died the year before.

The Foundation is an indepandat family Trust Fund that awards funding to worthwhile projects. In light of the family relationship with Wales, specifically the area of Powys, The Foundation looks more favourably upon proposals which aim to benefit the communities in this area than those received from others regions throughout the UK. The Ashley family remain actively involved in the day to day running of the Foundation ensuring that awards compliment the family ethos.
